I completely failed when it came to finding cute brightly colored strings for my thrifted roller skates so I had to resort to hiking-boot strings, and you can guess that they looked less than lovely. So, today I came up with a (dare I say...brilliant?) plan on how to change up the look. Since I don't have pierced ears, I wear clip-on earrings, and since I love pretty (and cheap) things, I have acquired many pairs of them. So, what I decided to do was to clip my earrings onto the strings of my roller skates.

If anyone had wondered, my shirt is supposed to look like Michael Jackson's jacket in the Beat It video. Hm, I'd probably have so say that that is my favorite of his music videos...what about you?

I wanted super hero-esque wrist cuffs, so I donned three, one larger one and then two on the other wrist to try and match the size.
Oh, and I got these glasses in the sunglasses section. They are a bit reflective. Are they sunglasses? I bought them because I thought they were sunglasses, but no one else seems to think they are.

shirt - Kmart
skirt - H&M
tights - H&M
roller skates - thrifted Hyde
purse - thrifted
belt - thrifted
sunglasses - Target
left cuff - Wet Seal
right cuffs - vintage
ring - vintage
hair bow - vintage
earrings on skates - vintage

I am really craving bold colors and statement jewelry for summer...

Amazing !
i LOVE that you embellished your roller skates. you rock.
Yes, I have read the books and in many senses the films are better. When I read the books I thought they were terribly written and that the love interests were downright unhealthy (plus I totally didn't get Jacob's appeal in the books), but I got slightly sucked in and then couldn't believe I had wasted a month of my life on them lol. The movies though are well cast, the men are hot as hell (and now I totally understand the Jacob appeal and want him for myself haha), the NW scenery is gorgeous, the indie soundtracks are innovative and great, and they're just campy fun. Some people hate the films because I think it proves just how cheesy the series actually is, but if you go in expecting to laugh at it you can very much enjoy it and enjoy a little teen romance.
what a fun look!
Cute look! I love what you did with the skates, so original! I also really like your floral tights.
