As you probably already are aware of, I love ridiculous cutesy/tacky (and by "ridiculous cutesy/tacky I mean completely amazing!) things like this teddy bear sweatshirt. Even though it says, Let It Snow, I bought it last summer (for a steal around $2) and couldn't wait to wear it. Well, this past month it's almost been constantly on my back and I've yet to share it with you, so...ta-da!

but you can do the job when you're in town

I stumbled upon this beautiful hat when I was in Door County this past fall. It was in a corner of an antique store booth looking rather lonely, so for $12, I figured I'd better give it a home.

I played around with several different scarves before finally deciding on this (also furry) collar. Even though it's a different color than the hat, I think it works well in adding more texture to the entire outfit.





It's been such a long time since I busted out the red lipstick, but something about the furry accents and the bright red nail varnish called for it.

somebody waits for you...kiss her once for me

A couple days ago I fashioned this "crown" out of discounted winter floral stems. I love the frosty quality it adds to whatever it's paired with.







To celebrate finishing the last of my final exams, I poured myself a delicious glass of sparkling cider. Happy winter break!

such a long, long time back

The ladies I work with organized an "ugly sweater party" for the holidays. Those who didn't ask to borrow a sweater from me (what were they insinuating?!) went out and thrifted their own. Of course, afterwords, they all wanted to unload their "ugly" sweaters on me, and, boy, did I let them! This particular vest was given to me by my manager - I love the sheep! How could she let it go?





I love the circular scarf trend - this one was left over on the sale racks at H&M for $5. They always remind me of the Thneeds from The Lorax...

This thing is a Thneed.
A Thneed's a Fine-Something-That-All-People-Need!
It's a shirt. It's a sock. It's a glove, It's a hat.
But it has other uses. Yes, far beyond that.
You can use it for carpets. For pillows! For sheets!
Or curtains! Or covers for bicycle seats!"

I will totally wear this scarf around the neck once (like today) or twice, around the shoulders like a shawl, and I even want to try in cross body, Suffragette style - there are so many possibilities.

kindness is like snow - it beautifies everything it covers

Even though it means colder temperatures, snow is probably my favorite thing to have included in my outfit pictures. It's so pretty! It adds character to everything, though I will say that this mausoleum hardly needed any!

You might remember this coat from last year - a thrift find for less than $10! It's really bulky, so I like to balance it out with long legged looks on the bottom.





This outfit is exactly the same as this one except for the color of the tights. It's amazing how one little detail like that can transform the look completely.







I put off taking pictures until later today to see if snow might start to fall, but it held off...until I stepped back into my house. Of course now, as I stare out the window, it's coming down as if we're in a Christmas fairytale.

It's here, people - brrrrrrrrrr! It took a ton of chutzpah to step outside in the below freezing temperatures this morning...and even more to stand outside taking photos!

This dress is probably one of my best thrift store finds ever - it's so classic and practical for chilly winter days.
