Lately I have been obsessed with layering my long socks over tights and leggings, and I've been surprised at how much warmer it actually does make me. I'll tell you what - it definitely makes the romps in the woods more enjoyable when your toes aren't frozen!
This is definitely one of my go-to outfit for the cooler weather. Long sleeved velvet minis are so effortless, I always find that they need hardly anything else to make the outfit. All I needed were some cute boots (perfect for dancing through my first Door County snow!) and a scarf to prepare for this chilly day.
These photos were taken at Cana Island Lighthouse, definitely my favorite lighthouse to visit in Door County. It felt good getting dressed up to go see her...I bet she tires of the tourists in their shorts and tee shirts. This coat was a lovely nautical addition for the adventure, and the pretty red bow was perfect a last minute thought.
I wore this lovely coat from eShakti again this week. I love how the pretty ruffled collar contrasts against the strict black turtleneck of the dress. I love the twirly skirt of the coat, however, I really wish it had pockets! I am always trying to shove my hands in pockets that aren't there, haha.

This crown was the "finishing" touch to my nymph/witch costume Halloween week, and ever since then I've been dying to bring it out again. (Remember when I made it last year? I haven't worn it since!) Now that my seasonal job has ended I have a bit of spare time to play around with my "dress up box" and it's so nice after pretty much neglecting it all summer. Both this dress (worn as a top) and skirt were thrifted a few weeks ago when I was in Madison to visit B (of Sea Creatures). This is actually her skirt that I have accidentally held onto far too long...anyways, I loved how the beautiful rich color of the dress was reflected in the flowers, and it was from that that observation that the pairing came to fruition.

She follows him like a little black shadow.
He takes her out at midnight.
They prowl the woods.
He turns from time to time to make sure she is there.
And she is.
She is learning.
She is no longer timid.
She will soon be a lady of the night.
